2 posts back I said that Greece may be the vanguard of mass unrest in Europe and what do you know? I was right! “MADRID, Spain (AP) — As Greece suffered through its sixth day of violence Thursday, there were troubling signs of unrest spreading across Europe.
Angry youths smashed shop windows, attacked banks and hurled bottles at police in small but violent protests in Spain and Denmark, while cars were set alight outside a consulate in France.”
Now watch for the violence to re-erupt in France as all those unemployed and disaffected young immigrants joyously take to the streets once again. They sure do love to burn cars in France.
Elsewhere in Europe, more than 15 people occupied a Greek consulate in Berlin, Germany on Monday, hanging a banner out the window with the dead Greek teenager’s name and the words, “Killed by the State.” Youths clad in black appeared occasionally at a consulate balcony, exchanging chants with more than 50 protesters gathered on the street below.
About 100 people protested outside the Greek consulate in Frankfurt, Germany on Tuesday evening and minor violence was reported on the peripheries of the demonstration, including the breaking of a bank’s window.
In Italy, a group of protesters gathered in front of the Greek Embassy in Rome on Wednesday and some turned violent, damaging police vehicles, overturning a car and setting a trash can on fire.
This is rapidly becoming A Movement that could sweep the Continent from end to end, and if it does, the economic woes Europe is suffering now will be multiplied. Drastic action needs to be initiated now to quell this rising violence before it brings all Europe to its knees, which it very well could.
