The so-called Economic Stimulus bill that Mr. Change is demanding to be passed is not going to stimulate our economy. Maybe a little tiny bit. But George Bush already spent a trillion dollars a year while he was in office, buying all sorts of stuff to run the Iraq war in the effort to dominate their oil supply, and most of that stuff was made here in the U.S., all those airplanes and tanks and guns and bullets and tents and so forth. Yet here we are in a recession that continues to deepen and worsen in spite of all that spending.
So, why should another $820 Billion get us out of what $8 trillion didn’t? It won’t. The problem is blamed on the banks and Wall Street brokers, too much lending and too much greed, and that may be part of it but I don’t think it’s that big of a part. What did it for not just us but also Europe is the handing over of most of our retail sales items manufacturing to China, which caused the closure of too many of our factories at home, resulting in the loss of too many jobs. It was those newly unemployed who brought down the banks by being unable to make their loan payments, and the resultant bank crashes then wrecked the credit market, and down the whole thing slid. Add in the massive importation of foreign labor, much of it illegal, to compete with citizens for the dwindling supply of jobs, which government actually aided and abetted.
Why, then, is Obama giving us the same old same old, Be Afraid crap that Bush did to get us into Iraq, in pushing this latest huge spending bill? It’s a good question, so let’s take a look at it.
Almost all of this spending bill, and that’s what it is, NOT a “stimulus bill”, is for various forms of infrastructure projects in our various states. New or revamped parks and museums. Bridge repairs, road building, new offices for uppity politicians, along with studies on sexual behavior of strange critters and so forth. What was cut out to try to make it look better wasn’t the really porky stuff, it was money for schools and assistance for the unemployed.
Undoubtedly, much of our infrastructure needs facelifts or total replacement. George Bush spent zero on our infrastructure, leaving it to fall apart and be the next presidents nightmare, and it is, on both counts. We do need to get hot on repairing and rebuilding before things get any worse and we have more bridge disasters and collapsed levees. Yet only a portion of the money in this bill is allocated for vital infrastructure. Most of it is for projects that will do little, if anything, to put people back to work or improve our economy and in spite of all the usual partisanship, both parties are greedily piling their own pet projects onto the bill while paring off the really needful stuff like schools, to try to make it look smaller to us.
It’s really as if they know that there’s going to be lots of money pouring in at any moment and there’s nothing to worry about. Look at it and tell me that’s not how it appears. The voices opposed to more of this massive spending are few. Why is that? All they’re actually bickering about is ensuring that their own pork isn’t cut from the bill, not over the size of it. They only cut it back as much as they did over the rising public outcry, and as I pointed out, even then they cut schools and the unemployed rather than take out any pork.
Obama hasn’t been in office a month and he wants to spend nearly a trillion dollars. In his first month. Hell, even George took a year to waste a trillion. So why is he demanding that we go another trillion dollars into debt? I’ll take a guess:
Our money is about to become worthless anyway so what does it matter? I’ve got World War II German stamps in my little collection that started out being a few cents to mail a letter. As the war wore on and Hitler borrowed more and more from nations banking on his success, and Germany went deeper and deeper into debt, the stamps values started going up. And up. And up. Until it took not a few pfennigs but literally MILLIONS OF MARKS, which were equivalent to our dollars, to just mail a letter. This is what happens when nations go too heavily into debt and print money to pay those debts. Under George Bush our money supply expanded by a factor of about 10 … Ten times what it was before. When he came into office, there was one dollar bill for every ten dollar bills there are now.
Now, a great many of those dollars are held by China and the OPEC Arab nations. As their economies start sagging, using those dollars to prop things up will be inevitable, which means that those bucks will come home to roost, and even as our economy worsens because of that, and more people lose jobs and have no money, prices at our markets will rise.
This brings us back to the question of, WHY are those people in Washington on a spending spree in times of economic hardship?
Because they’re the stupidest, selfishest, most short-sighted, self-serving traitorous bums you could could ever hope to see burn in Hell, and that’s the plain truth of it and you can put Saviour Obama at the head of the mob. He’s the one with the megaphone, he’s the one roaring SPEND, SPEND, SPEND.
You were hoping for some intelligent, reasoned explanation from me, weren’t you? There is none. What these corrupt bastards are doing isn’t intelligent or reasoned. It’s a free-for-all rush to grab fistfuls of money while the getting is good, because for every pork project there’s a lot of kickbacks coming to those who score in this lunge for the money pot.
You were hoping for some honest government for a Change? That’s why you voted for Obama? Now pay for your stupidity, you poor gullible sheep. I told you so.
