In The News, And Not

In the news, the town of Bedford, New York is repeating the rejection of visiting insane person Moammar Ghadafi, aka Daffy Kadaffi, dictator of Libya and eager kissy kissy welcomer of the Lockerbie bomber who was released from prison over an oil deal and sent back to Libya. Daffy’s enthusiastic, party-time welcome of this guy has pissed off a lot of Americans, particularly those who lost family members when their airplane was blown up over Lockerbie, Scotlant, by Daffys buddy. Now Daffy is having a tough time finding a town that will allow him to pitch that big tent he likes to set up. I think that’s a small price to pay. Is there some reason this nutjob can’t rent a hotel room like everyone else?

Back in 1980 in Southern Rhodesia (brief history here) the British handed control of what was a British colony back to the native population, who renamed it Zimbabwe and proceeded to loot most of the white-owned businesses.
There was a lot of shooting and in the end the Zimbabwean economy nearly collapsed because not one of the natives had a clue about how to organize a dog fight, let alone run a hot dog stand.

-Today in Zimbabwe, the whites are being kicked off their farms in a “land distribution”, their homes looted and burned, and the land is being given to blacks who don’t know how to farm. The result is that their steadily sliding economy is now the poorest and worst on Earth, and the remaining white people, most of whom were born there just like everyone else, have to leave the country of their birth.

Show me an African nation that can prosper without European guidance and I’ll show you a new video game.

Not in the news: Obama telling Attorney General Eric Holder to vigorously prosecute ACORN for being a criminal organization, for promoting crime, for massive fraud violations and on and on;

Obama NOT telling Holder to STOP vigorously prosecuting members of the CIA in spite of the fact that doing so will greatly compromise our anti-terrorism efforts and will greatly aid Al Qaeda and the Taliban;

Any sign of the Far Left gaining back a shred of sanity.

  1. I LOVED THAT:

    “Show me an African nation that can prosper without European guidance and I’ll show you a new video game.”

    Perfect. Exact. Poetic.

    A Historic Statement.

    LOL. Glad you like it, Ernesto

    I suppose Zimbabwe might be excused on the grounds that societies emerging from turmoil or undergoing major social change often manage to screw up. The economic collapse of East Germany after the Berlin wall fell for example.

    More depressing is the rest of the black world. When they live in other countries they form the underclass. When they govern themselves there is war, crime, corruption and poverty. One keeps hoping that more positive signs will appear somewhere, that this is just a developmental lag of a century or so, which in human history is nothing.

    Unfortunately, at the moment there doesn’t seem to be even the slightest hopeful sign on the horizon. Perhaps the white supremicists are right, “unacceptable” doesn’t always mean wrong.

    East Germany’s collapse when the Russians left was entirely caused by the Russians stripping the place bare of every last vestige of manufacturing capability. All the machines, all the tools, all the inventory, all the money in the banks, EVERYTHING was taken. Of course their economy, which was poor anyway because of the imposition of Communism, ceased to exist. The Russians took the E. Germany economy with them when they left.

    Zimbabwe is like other African nations where the Europeans have been booted out. They all fall apart for lack of competent leadership. Plain fact, African negroes are not as civilized as other peoples. Tribal allegiances and rivalries dominate much of their behavior. They don’t have the many centuries of civilization building behind them that many other peoples have.

    Not an assessment of East Germany I’ve seen (or can find on brief search) but I certainly wouldn’t say it’s wrong.

    On Zimbabwe there were exceptional circumstances I think that most other African countries did not have. Suppose this been the other way round, a black minority in charge and the white majority largely excluded from the best education and jobs in the economy. If the white majority had then taken over would they have been content with a gradual transition while they educated themselves and learned the ropes? I doubt it.

    The big elephant in the room that nobody will mention is those intelligence studies although the objections to their validity simply make no sense. True, history indicates there is much more to success of any group than its average intelligence but in an overcrowded world of ever greater competition for diminishing resources those other factors will be of increasingly less importance in my view.

    You and I will be long gone but we are heading for a world where benign concern for the less able will be part of history. Socialism is a passing aberration.
