Look at the sheet plastic parody of an American flag draping the base of the drone. Now try to imagine us with a captured Russian aircraft, on public display with an offensive version of the Russian flag draped around it.
We would never display another nation’s flag in that manner. As private citizens, yes, but as an official act, never. But let’s say we did. Would we desecrate their flag with skulls?
These people are clowns. They make extravagant claims, they behave like juveniles, their emotional responses are infantile. I can close my eyes and imagine them all running around with big flappy bright yellow shoes and billowing clown suits. They may be able to determine the chemical composition of various parts of this aircraft but making those parts will require the development of industry that they don’t have. This is much like a 1950 carpenter figuring out what a piece of laminate flooring is made of but not having the slightest clue how to make any.
No doubt Russia and China are eager to lend their expertise in reverse-engineering the thing, and are probably doing their best right now. However, time goes by. The Russians had reverse-engineered our B-29 Flying Fortress by 1947, a vastly less technological feat than copying our drone, and by 1965 or so the plane was obsolete. At the rate technology is developing now, how long will that drone be competitive? 3 or 4 years?
They got hold of the drone last December. They’ve had it for only five months. They don’t have anything close to the advanced industries needed to build one of these and they’ve barely had time to copy all it’s dimensions and figure out what most of its parts do. That’s a world away from actually being able to make one like it. The Russians could ultimately copy it and will probably be the ones who actually do, but by the time they get it all figured out, there will be new kids on the block.
