This little girl is only 5 years old and her mother has her dressed up like Dolly Parton, padded breasts, padded butt and all on the “Toddlers and Tiaras” TV show, and doing the shimmy.
I’ve come across these “make a play-toy out of your child while sexualizing the Hell out of them” pageants every once in a while on TV and they’ve always wierded me out. Many of these parents teach their tiny little kids to do very sexually suggestive dances and put them in very adult costumes in their effort to trump the other mothers, who are all also forcing their children to act out on stage.
A couple times the program showed the behavior of the mothers toward their children and they used anger and aggression to get their kids to do everything just exactly so. Remember, these kids are only 4, 5, an 6 years old, how much patience does a little kid like that have and what would you have to do to get them to smile and wave and all that stuff exactly on cue?
In the above childs case, the father took the mother to court over this pageant stuff, and a court appointed psychologist recommended that the father be given primary custody. The judge will likely agree to this, and three cheers.
This may spell the end of these disgusting, child-abusing pageants. Professionals whov’e weighed in on this all say that the mothers are sexualizing their little kids, and I agree. Hell, anybody could see that. But if you read the article on this that I linked to, Mom is in full denial that she’s doing anything even slightly wrong, and the reason she’s losing in court is because her ex-husbands family has political connections. That’s the only reason, just ask her. ““While some people may or may not agree with pageants–it’s not illegal,” she said. Neither is teaching your children that Adolf Hitler is God but only an idiot would do so.

Any mother that does that to a child needs to have that child taken away.

Kids copying adult behaviour is probably a natural instinct and girls putting on makeup at home is probably no more sexualisation than playing with dolls, or boys having toy guns for that matter.
But that really is miles away from public displays like that with padded bras etc. Can’t understand why they have these pageants in the US.
