With Friday past us and the sequestration spending cuts now a reality, there looks to be some hope for America’s future after all. I may be reading too much into this, but the fact is that Obama failed to get what he wanted.
He lied about everything, he did his best to scare hell out of the American public, he threatened everyone and everything he could, to prevent a decrease in projected spending. He misrepresented the sequestration as being a reduction in basically every service and government function from our military budget to Medicare, although the truth is that government spending will increase anyway. Now it will just increase by $80 billion less, that’s all. The Democrats are still spending us into the poorhouse and a cut of a Trillion$ wouldn’t be enough to reverse that, since they intend to INCREASE spending over $2 Trillion more anyway.
But still, there’s hope. Obama didn’t get what he wanted in spite of all his efforts, and that tells me that while he has a half-nelson on America, he doesn’t have a stranglehold. Enough Republicans held firm on this to stop him, and maybe that will give the rest more gumption to join them. After all, there will be another mid-term election.
We need a freeze of governement expenses. We should only maintain essential spending. After all, if it’s not essential, why are we spending money on it? Our children are drowning in debt before they are even born…
Recently I have learned a lot about certain government programs available to folks who are disabled like me. As I said at my blog, the people I see using some of these programs can afford to pay for them!
Obama is such a lying bastard!
Governments rarely know how to spend money wisely. Any reduction has to be a good thing.
PS Saw your comments about Mother Theresa on Mr AOW’s. What a saint. Not.

Well, xoggoth, she WAS catholic, after all….. It’s always the myth rather than the reality that we admire.
Blacksheep ! Been travelling for a few days, Now in Alberta for a month to calve my cows…shit ! i’m freezing my you know what off ! Got here last night as a blizzard was ending.
Yes it is a victory for us..albeit a small one, but it’s a start.
Obamugabe lost pure and simple, now if we can only win the senate we’ll be able to tie the bastards hands till we can impeach him or make him a lame duck President.
Palidin, you are quite the cattleman, aren’t you? It does get chilly in up in Canada, enough to freeze the grease in transmissions and keep your car from moving, as I found out once.
The Senate. If only. But hold that thought, it’s a good one.
Mr. AOW, if any of those free services can help you, I’d certainly take advantage of them. The more they spend on you, the less left over to give to Egypt.
Something else that caught my eye and related to sequestration as the dust up started with Bob Woodward of the WaPo.
Mr. AOW hates the very thought of going on welfare. He was brought up not to accept handouts from the gubmint.
There does seem to be some regression in the liberal media’s fondness of Obama. I guess even the most rabid liberal can only take so much.
BRRRRR ! Livin in Maryland has made me soft ! Geez it`s 20 degrees here today !
But by Friday… 50 !
Gonna calve some cows, my 60 and uncles 380.
Keeping some replacement heifers …gonna have to get a new bull too !
Sure is peaceful out here….went outside last night, and for the first time in a long time , all i could hear was a lone coyote a couple miles away calling for his partner, and the soft lowing of a mother cow out in the calving corral.
Nice.
Do wish it would warm up faster though !
Ahh yes, life in the sunbelt. How I love it. I lived 25 years in the wilderness of Northern California, and while it didn’t freeze up too much, it did enough. The water line to the spring was that black plastic pipe that comes in coils and odten, mornings, I’d have to go out and shake it up and down, the whole length of it, to bust up the ice and get a trickle flowing. Once it started it would soon melt a path and as long as I remembered not to shut it off, I’d have water flowing next morning.
20 degrees for a daily high is just too damned cold, though. No wonder my dad emigrated to the U.S. and his parents followed suit. He had 2 brothers and they all came.
I hear there’s another nasty storm headed East, hope you’re not in the path.
HUGO CHÁVEZ IS DEAD.
NOW, there is some hope.
Can we party, now?
