IT’S THE END OF SOMETHING, BUT WHAT?

Our Supreme Court decided 5 to 4 today that homosexuals somehow have a Constitutional right to marry each other, that same-sex marriage is a right. The 4 opposed to this view stated that this decision has nothing to do with our Constitution, at all, that “The majority’s decision is an act of will, not legal judgment.”

There are going to be serious and long-term negative consequences to this, because religious groups that consider homosexuality a sin are not going to accept homosexual marriage. Not just Christians, who are the vast majority in the USA, but also Muslims and others. They will refuse to perform same-sex marriages, and the courts will either decide that they don’t have to, or face violent opposition otherwise. Meanwhile, there are the various religious organizations that own businesses, and the businesses owned by religious people, who will insist on refusing services catering to homosexuality. We’ve already seen the lawsuits against such people and there will be more. This ends up being a direct attack on religious values, and we’re going to see different judges give different rulings on very similar situations, and that will end up adding to the Pending Case piles of all our state Supreme Courts, and then on to our SCOTUS. Meanwhile, Federal intervention will happen, jailing those who refuse to pander to the homosexuals, and there will be gunfire, and there will be people killed.

There aren’t that many homosexuals in this country. according to UCLA’s Williams Institute, which tracks the demographics of homosexual Americans. According to them, roughly 1 million same-sex couples, married and unmarried, live together in the United States. One million couples is 2 million people, well under 1% (about 0.6%) of our population compared to about 51 million married Heterosexual couples alone plus another 51 million households headed by an unmarried Heterosexual person or couple. About 60%, or 100 times more. Just for perspective.

Meanwhile, female Navy officers are now commanding some of our warships, with other female sailors, officers and enlisted, aboard ship along with overt homosexuals. As an old Navy destroyer sailor, I’m unable to imagine how this affects morale on these ships, but I don’t see how it can be good. No doubt young people take these things more in stride and have little problem with them, but sexual behavior on military vessels has always been detrimental to their efficiency. In any case, the old is getting swept away and the changes taking place are going to have consequences, in our military and at home.

You should be glad your Navy days are over, give it 30 years and refusing use of your bottom to gay sailors will be deemed discrimination!

I bet that’s a lot more prophetic than you realize.
