Ukranians have invaded Russia with lots of tanks and personnel carriers, advancing about 18 miles or so into the country and attacking villages, taking over administration buildings and generally freaking out the Russians.
Russia calls this a “terrorist attack”, upsetting “peaceful Russians”. The same peaceful Russians attacking Ukraine, I presume.
There’s a lot weird about this. For a long time, Ukraine’s been discouraged by NATO and the US from attacking Russia inside of Russia and now they’re encouraged to. While 18 miles, or 30 km as it’s reported, isn’t much, it’s enough to get the Russians all upset and outraged over this incursion, which they plainly consider to be totally unreasonable. How dare those people attack them on their own soil?
What the hell did they expect? And why now?
Ukrainian forces were reported fighting at Obshchy Kolodez, which is within 50km (31 miles) of the Kursk nuclear power plant, their apparent goal, and the Russkies are seen on satellite running defensive trench lines near the plant. Trench warfare? Seriously? Considering that the Russians took over Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and damn near caused a meltdown in their stupidity and clumsiness, it’s only fair that Ukraine return the favor. It looks like they’re going to try, anyway.
Personally I wish them good luck. One horrible mess deserves another. All this is the work of one tyrant, Vlad Putin, who wants to restore the old Soviet Union and is totally paranoid of the power of NATO and used the threat of Ukraine joining NATO as his excuse to attack them. So both nations end up losing, when it makes eminently greater sense to stop the nonsense and join hands as friendly, cooperating nations engaged in mutually beneficial exchange.
This is why humanity needs a global government. As long as we have powerful leaders of nations, patriotism, national pride and national sovereignty, we will have wars and all the misery that goes with them.
Which is why, you need to understand this, this is why the US and Europe and so many other nations are being flooded with migrants of all colors and races. Here in the US it’s hard to have pride your country in not being like Mexico when the place is full of Mexicans, Hondurans, Guatemalans…. The purpose of these migrations is to strip away national pride and homogenize us, and it’s working.
