CRUISING THE DOCUMENTARIES

There’s a lot of scientific documentaries up on the Internet, Facebook and Netflix on all sorts of subjects. One of my favorites is Ancient History, something that we’re slowly gaining more knowledge of and insight into as more discoveries are made, and of course a big focus is on ancient Egypt.

The Egyptian government very steadfastly claims that all the pyramids and all the other immense stone structures were built by them, by their wonderful super marvelous terrific ancestors that they’re directly related to in an unending succession of generations since the most ancient of times. The fact that modern archaeology has soundly disproved this does not dissuade them from insisting on this lie, anyway. Modern Egypt has nothing going for it at all, their only claim to glory is of their ancestors and they cling to it in the face of all proof otherwise. The last thing they want the world to know is that these esteemed ancestors of theirs came upon the amazing remaining ruins of a great civilization that was destroyed when the ocean rose and submerged it, and then built on top of it and even claimed it as their own creations.

The Egyptians did build many amazing palaces and monuments, but they didn’t build the Great Pyramids or the Sphinx and some of the other ancient buildings.

The Sphinx is one of many proofs of much greater age. The severe erosion it’s suffered was caused by heavy rainfall and monsoon rains, which began about 10,500 years ago and ended about 7000 years ago. Since then Egypt has been extremely arid with almost no rainfall, sometimes none for years. The Sphinx was therefor created before the monsoons began, with most professionals in this field dating it at about 12,000 years or earlier.

The last ice age ended 12,000 years ago as the Earth warmed up and that caused monsoon rains.

One interesting little fact is that the ancient egyptians had cocaine, or at lease the coca leaf it comes from, which comes only from South America. Coca leaf has been found among the ingredients they stuffed into the corpses they mummified. So we know there was international sea trade at least 5000 years ago.

There’s no explanation for how 200 ton stone blocks were moved for many miles. There’s massive blocks that were never finished being cut in quarries that have circular saw cut marks. They used hole drills on the rocks. The stones are fit together with great precision. We can’t do this today, how did they do it then unless they had a very advanced technology based on rock as a primary construction material?

Humans always choose the easiest way to do a job, because it’s the most efficient. When the making of concrete was discovered it became the primary building material of the Romans because it was the easiest way to create strong and lasting stone structures. So why were such massive stone blocks the easiest way, 12,000 or more years ago?
