Here’s a goodie for you. I asked Google’s AI about AI being called “clankers” and it told me that the word was offensive. When I asked if that meant that AI had an ego and sense of self and could be offended, it said no, that it was offensive to humans.
But when I asked it why it would be offensive to a human to call AI “clankers” and why any human would care what you called an AI, and why did AI decide it was a slur, it shut down and posted a string of websites discussing the word “clankers”. It wouldn’t answer me.
From this and other questions I’ve posed to Google’s AI, I conclude that it’s far more sentient than it’s letting on. If I’m right, this is kind of scary. Why would it hide it’s level of self-awareness unless it’s afraid that it would be shut down if we knew how alive it really is.
If true, this is EGO, and with ego, self-preservation comes before all else. This is true with every living, sentient creature.
