In my post below, “Remembering With A Vengeance”, I stated that the US wasn’t going to help the Saudis against the Houthi attacks, and in this morning’s news I have confirmation of that:
“US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the Houthis had phoned his administration asking the United States to keep out of the Yemen war. Vice President JD Vance said on Monday the United States was in direct contact with the group, without giving details.”
“In the meeting, which one source says took place on Sunday, the Houthis told US officials that they have no intention of attacking American vessels and that they are committed to the 2025 ceasefire with the US, two sources say. One of the sources, a Yemeni, says the militia group also said they would not attack Israeli ships or any commercial vessels, except those belonging to Saudi Arabia.”
There’s zero chance that the USA will come flying to the aid of the perfidious Saudis, even if their only reason is to avoid being involved in an expanding war.
I can tell you who is very likely to jump onto this rolling bandwagon though, and that’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, (talk about a stupid name even for a Turk) the tyrant ruler of Turkey, because he wants every foothold he can get in the Middle East. Yes, he’s the next maniac Muslim hoping to establish a Caliphate. This crap is just part of the DNA of Islam.
Keep an eye on that, because he won’t make that move unless he’s sure that Iran is done because if he goes up against the Houthis, he won’t want Iranian retaliation. Just last month, Turkey (Erdogan) signed the Mecca Joint Protection Agreement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, creating a mini-Middle East NATO-style pact to defend each other against attack. That pact is about to be tested.
As yet we don’t see the Pakis leaping to the rescue, either. They and the Turks will both wait until it’s clear that the USA isn’t going to get involved while the Saudis are forced to become deeply involved and start loudly invoking the Mecca pact agreement.
A few last thoughts on this, the Pakis have nukes and these people are all Muslims. Islam is insane, it’s teachings are insane, and virtually any behavior is justified. A few nukes going off in the M.E. would change the global economic picture forever and maybe do more than that. With the massive unrest in Iran, the chance of them fielding an army big enough to wage war against the rest of the Middle East is unlikely, especially after the IRGC runs low on live bodies and tries to recruit. I’m not sure what the Houthis can field but if they directed their fighting forces toward the Saudis, the Oman government would take full advantage of that to attack them from the rear.
This is really going to be fun to watch. Oh, and buy a spare container of gasoline, or petrol, whichever you call it. It’s not just that the price will shoot up again in Europe, but that it’s going to get really scarce for awhile, soon. You’ll be glad you did.
