WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE

“When Worlds Collide” was a science fiction book made into a movie back in the 1950s about a stray planet that had been pulled away from it’s star by a passing giant planet and nearly collided with Earth. It caused such massive gravitational stresses to Earth that our planet came apart, but not before ships were launched to the new planet, where it was discovered that there had been an advanced technology, just waiting for us to use as the new planet took up an orbit around the Sun. Not before most of the people, who were left behind, died, of course.

Here on Earth we have a different collision of worlds that’s rapidly nearing overload. The increasing disparity between political factions on Earth is global. In the USA, the Republican Party is now openly the religious Christian party while the Democrat Party is openly the Atheist party of evil. It’s actually pretty amazing to watch as one side entrenches themselves more and more in Christian morality and the other in no moral standards at all.

The same is happening in Europe, of course. It’s easy to blame the Muslims for changes in Europe but Islam is changing, too. The incursion of Islam was deliberate by the EU and part of the plan to destroy long-established European morality and social values. Iran’s missile attacks on their Muslim neighbors has brought those other Muslim states to an awakening. They need to side with the People of the Book, which in Islamic terms means the Abrahamic faiths, the Christians and more difficult but necessary for them, the Jews, because the alternative is being in the same camp as the Russians and Chinese. Selling them oil is one thing, being under their thumbs is another entirely, and the Christians, Jews and Muslims all share the Old Testament and essentially the same Old Testament god.

How atheist, devoutly Communist China will square with the Russians and their Russian Orthodox Church, with possibly 70% of Russians being Christians, if it comes to actual war with the rest of us remains to be seen but when it comes to the test, I think the Russians will do what Stalin did and turn against the forces of evil. Of course, he was also attacked by them first, but China wants to rule the world just like Hitler did, they’re the worst possible partner and the Russians surely know this.

Right now, what we have is a war of economies and the object is to keep it that way, which is why Trump & Co. stopped the war in Gaza before it drew in all the neighbors and likewise stopped bombing Iran. Iran only needs to be neutered, hence the demand for their enriched uranium and no A-bomb ever, and the intent is to achieve this goal through economic pressure rather than destroying their infrastructure. For all the grand declarations about “brave Iranian people”, no one actually cares that they’re getting slaughtered for protesting, or there would have been a rallying of forces East and West against that regime for this atrocity. Nope, this is strictly about castrating Iran and bringing them to heel because not even the other Islamic nations want Iran to rule any global Caliphate. They have prosperity now, they like it a lot and they don’t want to throw it away for the sake of having religious domination of a planetful of impoverished slaves.

Right now, what we have are the religious conflict between the Christian god, the Islamic god and no god, the battle between national economies for ascendancy and the war of competing technologies. The fight for natural resources vital to advancing technology is a factor along with competition for Earths food sources. The mega-billionaires of the world are both aligned and in competition, same as the mega-corporations and most powerful nations.

Imagine what we could accomplish as a race of creatures if we all worked together instead of fighting each other for dominance? This is the claim of Communism, everyone working for the Common Good, except that in practice, it’s all just another Masters and Slaves game. Competition drives creation, it’s when competition becomes the goal instead of what it creates that things end badly. Winning is only temporary, trophies tarnish with age, memories fade away. Accomplishments have to be built upon, they’re stepping stones, not final destinations.
