Iran is about to start a major assault on the Red Sea shipping lanes by way of their Houthi proxies in Yemen. They’re moving massive amounts of naval weapons to the Red Sea, including missiles, hundreds of sea mines and explosive boats. They’re going to go all out now, they’re going to lay mines across the Red Sea bottleneck between Yemen and Syria and block all shipping traffic and attack any ship that approaches with exploding drone boats, high speed boats with machine guns and with surface-to-ship missiles.
The only reason I can see for not directly attacking Iran is the logistics involved. Maybe they reason that it’s necessary to squash Iran’s proxies first. Regardless, the next big battle is going to be with Yemen and possibly simultaneously with Lebanon. Stay tuned.
