Trump’s latest blurts on Iran are that they’re either 80% or 50% at a deal, depending on which blurt you read. He says they agreed to give up their uranium, they say “No, they didn’t” and then he says “Oh yes they did”.
While this public bickering goes on and everyone keeps being assured of a peaceful diplomatic solution that the Iranians will never keep even if they agree to it and sign it with their blood at the UN, any more than they ever have of any other agreements they’ve made, while this goes on the Strait continues to stay closed to shipping. Oil shipping. Trump did casually mention that the Strait may be closed for another 60 days yet.
Trump is making sure that those he wants to have oil still get it and those he doesn’t, don’t. Between the Texas oil fields and our hold on Venezuela’s oil, the US is controlling much of the world’s oil supply now instead of the Middle East producers. At the same time, as long as the Strait stays closed, market reports say that all the world’s big oil companies are reaping major fortunes from the closure. Haven’t researched that so I’ll take their word on it, it sounds reasonable if they have a lot of full reserve tanks.
My concern in all this is that Iran will keep their IRGC-controlled government and continue to be a plague on the rest of us until someone, most likely Israel, has no choice left but to nuke them to stop them.
Meantime, this is all about keeping the Strait closed, as I’ve previously ranted about. I toldja so that this is going to be prolonged and I said why. If you skipped that part, scroll down.
