The Big Bang Theory has been proven wrong. Personally I’m cheering, I always hated it, it’s just too illogical. As science improved along with measuring and observing equipment, like the Hubble Telescope and the James Webb telescope, obvious shortcomings in the BBT began appearing. One is the lack of sufficient matter in the Universe that the BBT predicted, so the physicists came up with Dark Matter. “It has to be there, we just can’t detect it yet.” Massive efforts have been made to detect it and all have failed, and meantime another fault appeared, insufficient energy. So they patched the BBT again with imaginary Dark Energy, enough to validate the BBT.
They can’t find this imaginary Dark Energy, either. It’s another failed patch job. No surprise. This is the problem with these entrenched societies of academic peers who constantly compete with each other in mathematical one-upness. Once they all agree on something and put their name on that list, no way in Hell do they want to see anything happen that would make them look wrong. Theories that get accepted then become doctrines.
So it looks like we’re back to the Steady State theory again where the Universe is not expanding. They’re arguing over the Red Shift but I believe I’ve solved that little problem, since a thorough cataloguing of visible galaxies shows that a sufficient majority of them are all spinning discs with the same direction of rotation aligned in the same direction in relation to each other for it to be anomalous. Put plainly, this is proof that the Universe is not a big expanding blob but a flat disc that looks much like most galaxies. Only one helluva lot bigger, of course.
Red Shift. The farther away a galaxy is to us the redder it’s light looks, and this was thought to be because it’s moving away from us faster with increasing distance, hence the expanding Universe. No. Since the Universe is a disc, and matter warps space, the light has to travel along the curve of the warp, in this case the arms of galaxies. The warp causes time dilation, a known fact, and it’s the time dilation that causes the Red Shift. I’m sure on this and expect to see someone claim the idea on some science website eventually.
One thing I’m not so convinced of is the Steady State. It may be steady in an overall sense and I do believe it is, but it’s dynamic. It didn’t just come into being and then, that’s it. There’s a constant flux of energy coming and going. Still working on that one.
With the BBT in the trash, the “age of the Universe” is in there with it, since that’s what it was based on. More and better observations indicate that the Universe is at least hundreds of billions of years old. Some think that it always existed, I don’t, I think when the physicists say that space creates energy, that they’re on to something. Too bad my math sucks and I’m stuck with verbal explanations and field visualizations. But I get there, and sometimes well before the pros do because I’m not held back by peer pressure.
Stephen Hawking visualized what was going on in the Universe and then worked out the math for his theories. I do the visualization part, without the math, but Hawking is being proven wrong now on major points so maybe I shouldn’t use him as an example.
